ThriveBridge Community Support is a not-for-profit initiative that provides free, community-based support Services for low-income individuals and families.
Senior Home Support Program
We offer a range of specialized services tailored to meet your individual needs.
We support seniors who are living alone, on a limited income, and need a bit of help to stay safe and independent at home.
What we can help with:

Light housekeeping (tidying, dishes, light cleaning)

Laundry folding and organization

Simple meal prep and food reheating

Grocery shopping or help ordering groceries

Companionship and friendly visits
-
Non-medical wellness check-ins
-
Accompaniment to local appointments (non-medical)
Important: We do not provide personal care (bathing, lifting, medication management, nursing, or PSW services). Our support is non-medical.
Tech Support for Seniors
Helping seniors feel confident using technology.
Many seniors struggle with phones, apps, and online services that are now part of everyday life. Our Tech Support program offers patient, one-on-one help in the senior’s home.
We can help seniors with:

Learning how to use their phone (calls, texts, photos)

Making video calls with family (WhatsApp, FaceTime, Messenger)

Using Maps for directions and appointments

Setting reminders (medications, bills, appointments)
-
Accessing important websites and portals
-
Setting up emergency contact buttons or apps
-
Turning on accessibility features (larger text, voice assist)
-
Recognizing scams and staying safe online
We do not: manage passwords, handle banking transactions, or repair devices. We teach and guide—seniors stay in control.
Learning at Home Program for Kids
Educational support for children who can’t attend school in person
This program is for children who:

Are medically unable to attend school regularly

Are recovering from illness or surgery

Live with disabilities that require them to stay at home more often
We offer:

One-on-one reading support

Basic math tutoring (counting, adding, subtracting, early numeracy)

Homework and schoolwork support

Simple, customized learning activities
-
Encouragement and routine-building for learning at home
Sessions are designed to be short, engaging, and flexible to match the child’s energy and health.
WHO CAN RECEIVE SUPPORT?
Who Is Eligible?
We focus on individuals and families who:
For Seniors

Are 60+ years old
-
Live in our service area (e.g., Toronto and surrounding communities)

Have low income (for example, receiving GIS, ODSP, OW, or living in rent-geared-to-income housing), or can self-declare financial hardship
-
Have limited or no regular family support nearby
-
Need non-medical help
For Children
-
Are typically ages 4–14
-
Have a medical or health situation that keeps them at home for most or all school days

Need help with reading, writing, and math basics
-
Live in a low- or moderate-income household
If you’re not sure whether you qualify, you can still contact us. We will do our best to help or connect you with other community resources.
HOW IT WORKS
Step 1 – Request Support
Use our online form or call our support line to tell us what you need help with.
Step 2 – Intake & Eligibility Check
Our coordinator will speak with you (or your caregiver) to understand your situation, check eligibility, and explain what we can do.
Step 3 – Home or Virtual Visit Plan
We match you with a trained volunteer or staff member. Together, we agree on what kind of support works best and how often.
Step 4 – Ongoing Support & Check-Ins
We provide support on a scheduled basis and regularly check in to make sure your needs are being met safely and respectfully.
